VBS Bible with Mrs. Karen

Each day, the VBS kids were immersed in a Bible story dynamically told by Mrs. Karen.

Through a dramatic retelling of the 23rd Psalm, they learned that as our good shepherd, God gives us comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:17 tells us, “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.”

Through the story of Simeon and Anna who had waited all their lives to meet the Messiah (Luke 2:21-40), they learned that God gives us patience. Psalm 27:14 tells us, “Wait patiently for the Lord.”

Through a recounting of the time Jesus calmed the storm (Mark 4:35-41), the children learned that God gives us peace. John 14:27 states, “And the peace I give is a gift that the world cannot give.”

Through a stirring presentation of the Gospel account of Jesus’ death and resurrection to pay the price for their sins (Luke 22:66-24:12), the children learned that God gives us love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 tells us, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

In a dramatic reenactment, the children participated in Paul and Silas’s imprisonment and miraculous deliverance, learning that no matter what our circumstances are, God gives us joy. As Nehemiah 8:10 tells us, “The joy of the Lord is your strength!”
